En rejse til månen is believed to be the first brickfilm ever made. It was made in 1973 by Lars and Henrik Hassing for their grandparents' golden wedding anniversary. It was shot on Super 8 film using mostly stop motion animation.

After creating the film the Hassing cousins later showed it to the (former) President of the LEGO Group, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen who made a copy of the film.[1]

It was made a full 12 years before The Magic Portal which was widely believed to be the first brickfilm. En rejse til månen was only publicly released in May 2013 on to the creator Lars' YouTube channel.[2]

  • Lars is now 59 years old, and has been married for 29 years.
